The High Speed Train arrives to the Mediterranean corridor
The works consist of the construction of 25.7 km of the Murcia – Almería High Speed Mediterranean Corridor, defined for the operation of mixed traffic with functional layout design parameters between 200 and 300 km/h for passenger traffic and minimum speed of 100 km/h for freight traffic. The route crosses the municipalities of Pulpí, Cuevas del Almanzora and Vera.
The route is developed on a single track (8.5 m platform) from the origin, km point 500+000, to the Vera-Almanzora passenger station, km point 522+000, within which there is a track duplication that is maintained until the end of the project, km point 525+705 (4.7 m inter-axis and 14 m platform). The main actions are the following:
- Earthmoving: demolition, clearing, embankment, form layer and sub-ballast.
- Platform longitudinal and transverse drainage.
- Replacement of electrical telephone services and easements.
- Structures associated with the platform: retaining walls in clearing.
