Urban planning in Almería

The objective of the contract is the revision of the General Plan for Urban Planning in force since 1998, taking into account the need to adopt a new territorial model, more in line with the sustainability criteria which arise from the new urban planning framework, the high degree of expected development of urban land and the entry into force of the Law of Urban Planning of Andalusia (LOUA).

To this end, a diagnosis of the current situation and city strategies is carried out, taking into account the municipal needs at the level of services and facilities, designing an optimal location for these facilities.

In addition, comprehensive coordination is carried out with public bodies and administrations with competence at the municipal level, and GIS technology is used to process the territory data (environmental, cultural, etc.).

Finally, priority is given to the compact city model, in which different global uses coexist as a way to achieve urban sustainability.

The work includes the elaboration of the necessary cartography for the General Plan, at a scale of 1:500, based on a photogrammetric flight.
