Collaboration with the Lima Airport Expansion
The project consists of performing detailed engineering studies for the design and development of the provisional camp to be used during the construction of the «Jorge Chávez International Airport Expansion Project». In addition to the design of the internal roads, it includes the design of an evacuation route in the event of an extraordinary tsunami-type phenomenon.
The camp is made up of office buildings, an exhibition center, a laboratory and all the necessary facilities for the correct development of the activities under safe conditions. The buildings to be installed at the construction site camp are prefabricated structures.
The internal roads have been designed taking into consideration the heavy vehicles in circulation and the design speed is 30 km/h for the access road and the connection and 30 km/h for the internal road. The roadways are 7.20 m wide at the access road and 8 m wide at the internal and connection roads.
The evacuation route is included in the proposed Urban Development Road System of Callao 2011-2022. This route, together with four other existing routes that are part of the local internal road network, constitute the evacuation routes for the human settlements adjacent to the western area of Jorge Chávez International Airport, exposed to possible tsunamis caused by large earthquakes.
The evacuation route runs through urban areas, so its proposed design speed is 50 km/h. It has been designed with a 3.60 m wide lane in each direction, shoulders and sidewalks that make a total platform width of 10 m. The layout is determined by the limits of the settlements in the area.
