Medium Voltage Line Crossing under the A-1, Madrid

The projected works consist of the replacement of a section of M.V. overhead power distribution line at 20 kV, which is affected by the new route of the A-1, at km point 2+760.

The disruption occurs when the supports of the affected section of line coincide with the route of the extension of the service road on the right-hand margin of the A-1 route.

The length of the replacement is 2,500 m, at an underground level, 40 manholes. Three overhead/underground connections are planned at the km points 3+360, 3+620, 4+220 (with MV/LV overhead transformer) and 5+300 to provide continuity of service to the existing overhead lines at these km points.

The replacement is proposed by deviating the line to the right margin of the current route, setting back the channeling of the projected lanes. It is replaced with underground line formed with HEPRZ1 cable of 240 mm² of aluminum, in a channel formed by 4 HDPE pipes in base two Ø 160 mm. In accordance with the Technical Regulations for High Voltage Power Lines (RLAT), approved by Decree 3151/1968 of November, maintaining the original conditions of service.

The replacement of an underpass with an underground line protected by a 1,000 mm Ø jacked steel sheath on the km point 4+240 is also proposed. Underground channeling line formed with HEPRZ1 cable of 240 mm² of aluminum, in a channel formed by 4 HDPE pipes in base two Ø 160 mm. In accordance with the Technical Regulations for High Voltage Power Lines (RLAT), approved by Decree 3151/1968 of November, maintaining the original conditions of service.
