Peru’s Sierra y Selva Central connect with Lima

The project consists of the execution of the new La Oroya bypass road that connects two National Routes, the PE-22 road (Carretera Central) with the PE-3N road (Longitudinal Sierra Norte) with a total length of 27 km and design speeds between 50 and 60 km/h.

The scope of action is located within the Central Mountain Range of Peru, between the districts of Morococha, Paccha and Santa Rosa de Sacco, in the Province of Yauli, Department of Junín.

This action will free the long-distance traffic that passes through the city of La Oroya, by building a dual carriageway with lanes for slow vehicles, two road interchanges at each connection point, three structures and a tunnel 1,200 meters long.

The interchange with Route PE 3N resolves the passage of the Mantaro river and the railway line through the construction of a 136 m long viaduct. One of the most unique aspects of this project is that it is located at altitudes over 3,500 meters above the sea level, passing through bofedales and close to the Morococha mining unit. The designs include all basic, engineering and environmental studies, including the tunnel facilities.
