Railway connection with the French border

The section that is the subject of this Project belongs to the High Speed Line Madrid – Basque Country / French Border, between Burgos and Vitoria, for the exclusive use of passengers, and runs through the province of Burgos.

A total of 6.8 km of high-speed line platform is defined and three viaducts of 200 m, 321 m and 475 m, four overpasses, four underpasses, 16 frames for transversal drainage works and three walls with a total length of 355 m are built.

In addition, 2,478 m of the current railway line will be replaced, which is needed to carry out the future work contemplated in the project.

The project includes the definition of the necessary service paths, the replacement of all the paths and roads affected by the high-speed line and the replacement of a 45 kV Electrical Substation, with a 45 kV High Voltage supply line (2,478 m).
