The High Speed Train arrives in Vitoria

The purpose of the project is to connect the Burgos – Vitoria High Speed Line with the Integration of the railway in the city of Vitoria, thus enabling commissioning the Burgos – Vitoria and Vitoria – Bilbao High Speed Lines.

This connection will be carried out by means of a high-speed platform section of approximately 3.6 km, running through the municipalities of Iruña de Oca and Vitoria-Gasteiz, province of Alava.

The definition of the route takes into account the conditions imposed by the DIA, maintaining transverse permeability, the presence of a 400 kV high voltage overhead line Gasteiz – Vitoria, the proximity of the river Zadorra and the non-affection of the plot where the future Júndiz Intermodal Terminal will be located.

The most relevant actions of the project are the construction of a 190 m long pergola over the existing railway line, Madrid-Hendaye, and a 70 m long viaduct over the A-4302 road.
