Cabuya. URCI responds to the needs of Road Communication

This project is located in a highly urbanized area with high volume of traffic, and includes the expansion of José Agustín Arango Avenue to four lanes and the construction of two interchanges, one located at the current roundabout in Cabuya and the other at the intersection with the Pan-American Highway, where it crosses over the future subway line 2 interchange.

The project is located in the Tocumen area, east of Panama City, and will improve mobility and road safety in a densely populated area.

At the current Cabuya roundabout, an overpass will be built with marginal roads and bridges over the Cabuya river, while at the intersection with the Pan-American Highway, an interchange with separate roadways is planned to enable all movements.

The interchange leverages the layout of the existing bridge for one of the roadways and incorporates a new five-span bridge with 130 m in length between supports and maintains a 5.5 m gauge with the Pan-American Highway and Metro Line 2.

A new section of pavement will be provided for the entire José Agustín Arango Avenue and streets to be rehabilitated, completing the project with the construction of three pedestrian bridges, sidewalk design, lighting and green areas.
