The purpose of the contract is to supervise the concession for the maintenance and operation of section 1 of the A-2 motorway.
In addition, the concession contract includes the construction, conservation and maintenance works, as well as the operation of the infrastructure that guarantees compliance with the safety requirements of the regulations and applicable recommendations.
Likewise, the conservation and exploitation tasks consist of the maintenance of the road traffic, accident response, prevention and assistance of road maintenance in the winter season and replacement of the road equipment.
This section is 56.1 km long, from km point 5+900, Madrid, to 62+000, Guadalajara. The route crosses the rivers Jarama, Torote and Henares via bridges and viaducts. This section has 3-lane roadways that are connected by 23 median gaps, a total of 23 links and numerous service roads.
