Madrid’s Speed, more accessible
The project consists of the extension of the existing roadways in the semi-urban section of the A-1 highway, from km point 27+630, RACE, to km point 34+000, San Agustín de Guadalix link.
By means of this intervention, the trunk extends its roadways outwards with a third lane and the service roads’ design is continuous, passing underneath the overpasses structures of the links and continues uninterrupted from start to end of the works, so that the service roads take the form of side roads auxiliary to the main roadway. Both links have branches that connect with the roundabouts, which in turn connect with the main trunk, in addition to entries and exits.
In addition, an overpass is projected on the RACE link, as well as an underpass on the left-side roundabout of the same link, and six cross-section passages for branch crossings and service roads. Also, an underpass and the transverse drainage works are extended.
Likewise, the existing pavement is rehabilitated by means of a hot asphalt layer and the signaling system and road defenses are changed and upgraded.
