Peru connects the North and the South through Lima

The study consists of the construction of an urban highway or “Vía Expresa” at hot asphalt level, 34.79 km long, that connects the Port of Callao, Jorge Chávez Airport and the national roads whose origin or destination is Lima, i.e., Northern Pan-American (PE-1N), Canta-Huayllay-Junction PE-3N in Unish (PE-20A), Central Highway (PE-22), with the Ramiro Prialé motorway variant (PE- 22A) and the Southern Pan-American PE-1S. In addition, it connects the Santa Anita wholesale market through the Industrial Separator.

The standard section defined for the main structure consists of 2 roadways, with three lanes 3.60 m wide, 1.40 m outer shoulder and 0.50 m inner shoulder, and with a central separator 1.00 m wide.

The study includes the design of two (2) double tunnels (one for each roadway), 2.3 km and 1.9 km long, which have been equipped with adequate ventilation systems, lighting, emergency exits, signage and emergency communication systems.

It also includes the predesign of a total of 11 viaducts, 18 underpasses and 18 overpasses. All the interchangers are equipped with lighting and the project contemplates the replacement of all urban interferences (electricity, traffic lights, telecommunications, gas, supply and sewerage).

In addition, the text provides the design and construction of an Operating and Maintenance Center, as well as 3 main toll plazas and 5 lateral tolls that are connected to each other.

In order to integrate the infrastructure in the city, it is proposed to build a linear park that is located parallel to the highway, with a length of approximately 7.0 km, which provides residents with a leisure area.
