Road recovery for the coexistence of Pedestrians and Vehicles
The project consists of the rehabilitation and improvement of Juan Meloni Street, with the construction of a boulevard with a central island, expansion to four lanes, parking lots, green areas, sidewalks and a bike lane, and the construction of three vehicle bridges in the villages of Ernesto Córdoba, Las Cumbres and Alcalde Díaz, north of Panama City.
Juan Meloni Street is the beginning of the Cinta Norteña, a project whose purpose is to promote an open and quality space for the benefit of the residents of the area, boosting urban sustainability through the creation of a set of urban-environmental systems based on recreational, social and sports meeting areas.
The rehabilitation also includes a new drainage network, relocation of public services and landscaping.
The bridges designed in the project to improve accessibility to different residential areas include a 30 m long bridge over the river Las Lajas, a 30 m long bridge over the river Alcalde Díaz and a rainwater caisson in Villa Grecia sector.
