Arraiján will have adequate sanitation
This project, promoted by the Ministry of Health through Panama’s Sanitation Program, includes the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Arraiján Este, the trunk system composed of three pumping stations and their drives, and the interconnections with the existing sewage networks, in order to provide basic sanitation to this residential area, located in the west of Panama City, which has experienced a high population growth in recent years.
The plant has been designed to treat at least 11,352 kg/DBO5/D of pollutant load and 2,270 kg of NH3-N/D with an average design flow of 1 m3/s.
The project also includes the design of the offices of the coordinating unit, a laboratory, workshops and a 1,300 m2 management building.
The work carried out consisted of the design of dirt road works, urbanization, hydrological studies, landscaping and structural calculations of all the buildings that make up the treatment line of the plant and the annexed buildings, as well as the design of the pumping lines and pumping stations of the trunk system and the interconnections.
